To My Daughter On Her 8 th Birthday

October 26, 2013

Dear Princess D (Khushi),
I can’t believe 8 years ago today I became a mother of my first beautiful baby girl!!!
These past 8 years have passed by quickly and I have cherished every moment with you. In these 8 years, I have seen you growing so fast in all paces. You are a good dancer, singer, skater and swimmer; and a great artist. You are growing into such a beautiful and talented young lady, but this year you will mature so much more.  You are a perfect beautiful girl inside and out.
On birthdays you always asking me, “mom when I am going to be sitting without car seat and on the front seat of your car with you”. I would say now you are 8 and of course this birthday presents a new milestone in your life. But still you need a booster car seat! You are now old enough to sit in the backseat with just a seat belt like all adults but you know mom loves you and asking for another year with booster car seat.

I know how excited you are, but I feel overwhelmed with the realization that you are another step away from childhood and on the brink of being a teen. Then I know you would be more into Pet Stores…..
Never lose your imagination and playfulness.

Continue to be brave enough to try new things because there is so much this world has to offer you.
You have such a good and pure heart. There will be people in life who will want to take advantage of that, but never lose faith in yourself and those love you unconditionally.

I love hearing about your day, seeing the new dance moves you learn, teaching you new games, reading with you, and simply being your mom. I am so blessed to have you in my life.

You really are the best thing that has ever happened to me.

Happy birthday, princess!
I love you,
Mama
